Bees please

Here is a beautiful Bees block of the month quilt from Sonja. She used traditional piecing as well as hand stitched applique to create this quilt. She wanted custom quilting that would highlight the beehives and make her handwork pop. The beehives have some stitch in the ditch to bring our their texture.  I used feathers, swirls, and stipple stitch fill in the background. The chimneys and cornerstone blocks are straight stitched to frame in the beehives. This quilt is backed with a short pile black minky and batted with bamboo. The minky back lets you see and visualize Sonja's work from both sides of the quilt.
